Areas We Support

Campus Gardens
Our extensive gardens are integrated into every subject area and across all grade levels, providing unique, hands-on opportunities for  students to learn about the world around them.

Chef in the Garden
Throughout the year several award-winning chefs, including Chef Charleen Badman, Chef Vincent, Chef Chris Bianco are invited to work with the students and show them how to use garden produce and make different foods. The gardens on our campus are consistently integrated into classroom curriculum. This program also supports the maintenance of these different gardens throughout campus and assisting the teachers with blending curriculum with hands on integration. Volunteers are needed work with teachers to maintain gardens, as well as plan and help during cooking events.

Exploration Friday
Four times a year we take a Friday morning off from regular classes and all students get to pick two hourlong classes. These classes are taught by community members, family, friends, and professionals. The idea is to have a hands-on learning experience, so they are not lectures, but interactive learning. Some of the fun things that we have brought in include taiko drumming, drama, songwriting, parkour, police robotics, forensics, veterinarian science, nursing, geo-caching, claymation, coding, architecture, city planning, dance, cooking, cultural celebrations, sports, fine arts and more. We are always looking for new presenters, planning team, suggestions and help on the day of the event.

Family Read
On the last Friday of every month; parents, friends and family are encouraged to join their students, as well as siblings from different classrooms, to sit and read together for 20 minutes. After enjoying family read, have a cup of coffee and some good conversation with fellow families
